According to Ayurveda ( the Indian "science of life") , the first requirement for healing oneself and others is a clear understanding of the three dosha. Vata-Pitta-Kapha. We will learn about our unique constitution (dosha) and how to work with it for happiness, health and creative growth. We will use lecture, self-inquiry and yogic techniques to become better acquainted with our prana.
All participants are invited to disconnect from the outside world and connect into nature, quiet, community, vegetarian food and yoga ( including pranayama and meditation). We will learn how to embrace our unique selves and support them through the changes seasons and cycles of life.
Practices will bring attention to the tendencies of the dosha and provide tools for harmony. The ancient wisdom of ayurveda is intuitive, practical and easily brings into balance all of the energies in the body to slow the processes of physical deterioration and disease.
During the Saturday mid-day program, participants will learn ayurvedic rituals and participate in meditation. Emphasis will be on learning how to use the wisdom of ayurvda to go through the stages of life gracefully.
